Know many types and brands of furniture and  along with that know what works for kids, adults, elderly, etc.  You have to be able to look at a room or house and visualize what the changes will look like and what would work in a particular situation.  You have to know something about construction and architecture.  Be able to draw and be creative.  Listen to the customer.  Know materials and costs.
      Don&#039;t know where you live so go on line and search for local schools that offer interior design/decoration.  Look for how many years they have curriculume cirruculum and how many have graduated and got jobs.
     Just starting out of school $22K to $30K but if you are good and establish your own business then you could make $80K but it is a lot of work.</description>
