I’ve worked in interior design. I would suggest you take all the geometry classes that you can.. In interior design you’re going to have to learn computer aided drafting, and geometry is the foundation of CAD and any space planning. It sounds hard, but it’s all about “thinking spacially” -seeing things in three dimensions and being able to judge distances. Interior design isn’t just about matching colours and textures and furniture shopping. It’s like fitting puzzle pieces. Once you have a general idea of the furniture that the customer wants in the room, you have to figure out where and how to place the items to best utilize the space. You’ll want to take some art classes too, mostly drawing with lead and pen & ink. It’s a great profession, I love it. If you want to begin studying on the side, you should grab up some books on computer aided drafting. Maybe see if you’d be able to take some CAD courses at the local community college. Some community colleges will let you take courses beginning when you’re 16.

Take interior design, and if your high school does not offer it then I would recommend taking fashion merchandising because you learn alot about different types of fabric.
Good luck!

Lots of art classes. If they offer a graphic design or any CAD (Computer Aided Design) classes, take those, too.

don’t worry about what classes to take in high school for interior design, worry about which classe will get you into college with the most rounded education. About 90% of college student change their majors once or twice while in college so its important that you get your basics covered before you get into school. Take all of your general education, your sciences, your English, your social science, your math, your humanities and your lame PE and such.
